Ways for Plastic Waste Minimization

Community Involvement:

Drive-through community clean-up events are a big deal.  Cleaning the parks and the riverbanks and beaches not only removes plastic waste but it also grows a sense of responsibility and awareness among the residents.


Act for Change:

Encourage Schools, Businesses and Organizations to participate in plastic-free events.  A simple switch in the use of cups, cutlery, and plates can create a huge dent in the amount of waste generated.




Only a community effort through relentless and continuous processes can help in creating a plastic-free world. From reducing plastic usage to finding methods for the perfect recycling system, each step creates ways to make the Earth a cleaner place. Let us increase our efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle, thereby creating a better future for ourselves and for the generations to come.


Recycle and Segregate:


Proper segregation and recycling are also importance.  We can minimize the amount of plastics entering our landfills by doing this, as long as we ensure plastics are sorted correctly and reach the recycling facilities.

What Did I Actually Learned?

 What have I learned from this past first quarter of Grade 10? I learned many things this 1st Quarter. To begin with, our lessons on the birth of the internet, its pioneers, and blogging certainly opened my eyes to the true value of such things. To be honest, from everything that I have learned, learning how to create and maintain a blog was most beneficial and the most exciting to me as it allows for total freedom of expression online. However, the major challenges of my first quarter experiences were really hard, as well as poor time management. That really put me into thinking about solutions.
